Judge rules Snipes must reimburse government

OCALA, Fla.

Actor Wesley Snipes must reimburse the government in prosecution costs for his tax conviction.

According to court documents, U.S. District Court Judge William Terrell Hodges ruled last workweek the action film star must reimburse the governing about $217,000. Snipes, star of the "Blade" trilogy and "White Men Can't Jump" among other movies, had objected to the cost.

A message left wing with Snipes' attorney was not instantly returned Tuesday.

A jury convicted Snipes in February of three counts of willfully failing to file his income taxes. He has appealed the convictions and his three-year prison sentence.

Taking their name from a verse form in J.R.R. Tolkien's Divine of the Rings, the German smuggled metal dance orchestra Evereve was formed in 1993. Comprised of singer Tom Sedotschenko, guitarists Thorsten Weißenberger and Stephan Kiefer, synth player Michael Zeissl, bassist Stefan Müller and drummer Marc Werner, the group released a demo tape titled On the Verge of Tears in 1994, followed a year later by a split CD recorded with some other German work named Parracide. Evereve's full-length debut Seasons followed in 1997, and their second LP, Stormbirds, appeared the following year.

Amy Winehouse Caught Up In Racism Storm

Amy Winehouse’s career looks to have taken another step in the wrong direction after a video emerged of her singing a ‘racist’ song.

The video shows Winehouse and a friend being filmed by her husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who is egging the pair on to sing the tune.

The News Of The World claim they were given the footage by one of Fielder-Civil’s friends who was “determined to show the world just what power Blake wields in manipulating the vulnerable young star.”

The video was purportedly shot in May 2007, just weeks before the pair married in Miami.

Fielder-Civil is heard to say: "Can we have a singsong of it?"

Winehouse and her friend then reluctantly give a rendition of the song ‘Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ with the original words replaced.

They repeatedly sing: "Blacks, Pakis, Gooks and Nips, Gooks and Nips!

The last line contains the words: "And deaf and dumb and blind and gay!"

After they finish singing, Fielder-Civil insists that he wasn’t filming before Winehouse’s friend asks him to swear on his life.

On top of the potentially damaging video the newspaper have also published numerous pictures of Winehouse surrounded by drug paraphernalia including crack pipes.

Walker: I Was Victim of Shotgun Offense

Javon WalkerJust moments after getting oral surgery to fix his busted face, NFL star Javon Walker blew the lid off his mysterious beatdown -- claiming he was abducted out of his Las Vegas hotel room by gun-toting thugs early Monday morning.

In an exclusive statement to TheDirty.com Walker said, "I was just back at my room and at about 5:30 in the morning, I got a knock at the door, I opened it and 3 guys with guns were there, they cracked me in the head a few times knocking me unconscious. They then robbed me of everything I had -- my watch, money -- everything! Somehow they got me to the car and dropped me off in the street. That's what happened."

Walker, who just signed a $55 million dollar contract with the Oakland Raiders, also says reports that the robbery stems the champagne wars with Floyd Mayweather at Tryst nightclub earlier in the evening are completely false.

London police, Crown differ on whether Kate Moss should have faced trial

LONDON - London's police chief and England's chief prosecutor are at odds over whether Kate Moss could have been brought to trial on suspicion of using an illegal drug.

The dispute centres on an incident three years ago when a newspaper published a photograph of Kate Moss apparently snorting a white powder through a rolled-up five-pound note.

Police investigated the case at length but the Crown Prosecution Service decided not to take it to court. Similar issues arose in more recent cases involving singer Amy Winehouse and Peaches Geldof, daughter of activist-rocker Bob Geldof.

In an interview published Friday in the London Evening Standard, Sir Ian Blair, the commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, said a jury should have been allowed to decide.

But Ken MacDonald, who heads the Crown Prosecution Service, said Blair seemed not to understand the law. MacDonald said prosecutors would have to prove that the powder was a particular class of drug, which was impossible.

The incident caused temporary damage to Moss' career but, after a stint of rehabilitation in the United States, she regained her high status as model and style-setter. She has also since parted company with her boyfriend at the time, rock musician Pete Doherty, a convicted drug user.

"The investigation of these cases is difficult due to there being no substance that can be forensically analyzed and used for prosecution evidence," Blair was quoted as saying. "We are keen to explore whether there are further options that can be considered."

Blair said the burden should be on the suspect to persuade a jury that the powder was a legal substance.

"You convince me that you're taking talcum powder," Blair said.

"My position is that a sensible jury would not expect people to be sniffing talcum powder."

Moss' lawyer specifically denied that the powder was cocaine but did not claim that it was talcum.

"The issue was not whether the white powder that Kate Moss was snorting was cocaine or talcum powder," MacDonald said.

"The law required us to prove that it was either a class A drug or a class B drug. We could only base our case on one of these options.

"It was impossible for us to do this since cocaine, a class A drug, and amphetamine, a class B drug, are both white powders."

Madonna denies marriage split reports

Singer Madonna has denied reports which claim that her marriage to film director Guy Ritchie is in trouble.
The reports, which have been circulating in the media for several weeks, were further fuelled last week when Ritchie failed to appear at Madonna's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
However, Madonna's US spokesperson, Liz Rosenberg, has denied rumours of a split, saying: "I am delighted to confirm that Mr and Mrs Guy Ritchie remain happily married."
She continued: "Though they were in different countries recently - Madonna in the US doing promotion for her upcoming album 'Hard Candy' and Guy finishing up post-production on his new film 'RocknRolla' as well as completing a Nike commercial and working on several scripts in England - the family are joyfully back together at home in London. All is well and wonderful in the Ritchie household."
